The old man remembers everything – from the beginning
of his appearance on earth as Donal on the small island of Scarrap in
the Orkneys right through until his final incarnation as Papa Roach on
the island of Barbados.
His lives are set out as interwoven tales, the
purpose of which is to exhibit one eternal life, carved into many incarnations
where the
aim is for the soul to learn the many lessons required in order to
progress.
The old man relates these stories of his lives to great-grandsons
Thomas and George and the reader learns that the younger boy, George,
has inherited his great-grandfather’s remarkable memory.
The Odyssey
of Papa Roach demonstrates that whatever outward appearance the soul
wears, the intrinsic task is the same – to return to
the Source…
